The Farm Eredi Gradassi

among the most ancient of the umbria Region, extends for about 150 hectares in the Valle Spolentina, including the communes of Campello sul Clitunno, Spello and
Trevi.
The farm is led in direct economy by the Cavaliere Carlo Gradassi with the assistance of the sons Andrea
and Elisabetta. The Cavaliere Gradassi cultivates in the irrigous fields of the bottom of the valley cereals, sunflowers, maizes and in the last period he has discovered again the biological and traditional cultivations of lentils, beans, chickpeas and spelt.In the hilly field of Spoleto extend the vineyardswhere the Farm picks the grapes to produce the excellent vines d.o.c.(certificated origin) like Grechetto dell'Umbria, Rossi di Montefalco and Sagrantino di Montefalco. But the bottonhole flower is the production of the typical extravirgin olive oil of umbria that goes back at 1639. Fields rich of calcareous rocks and poor of ground, as well as a climate with rigorous winters, have given rise to a typical variety of olive trees said "Moraiolo", with modest size, that produce a little fruit but with a very good quality and without treatments with phytomedicines. From the 20.000 plants, sited in the pede-mountains band that dominates the famous Fonti del Clitunno (between the country of Campello and Trevi) are coming produced in the modern oil press of the Farm olives that picked and selected manuallyin the mounth of november and december, are coming squezzed to natural and cold dripping with the 24 houres from the picking (Sinolea-Rapanelli method). From about 20 yearsthe Firm selles the oil and the other products directly and for correspondence with the final consumer and no more to the local dealers as they used it to correct the other less quality oil. The result is an excellent oil for the palate but above all for the health, with an emerald colour and with a fructified and lightly pungent taste. In the 1994 the Frantoi Gradassi has obtained the national fascinating prize "Ercole Olivario" for the category of the fructified light oil. The typicality of the product is connected to a precise phisical-chemical parameters and that are continually examinated, a garantee for the consumer, a deserving recognition for all the producers that like us believe to emphasize correctly an oil that have not to be afraid of competition, the typical extravirgin olive oil of Umbria. THE QUALITY To protect our oil we are became member of the CO.RE.OL., the consortium that garantee the quality of the extravirgin oil of Umbria. The CO.RE.OL., amoung various commissions of expert (Technical Committee, Tasting Commission and Consumer Commission), watch in order that the consortium don't put defective oils in the market under the mark of the consortium. Only the best oil like our oil can use the mark CO.RE.Ol. |
