The olive tree, with its twisted knotty trunk and its rich fruit is linked with the history of mankind and has been an eternal element of our landscape throughout the ages. The silver green silhouette of the olive tree has dotted the Mediterranean, and in particular the Umbrian landscape, for the last two thousand years.

The olive variety which emblemises Umbria is the "Moraiolo", a small olive which produces an extra virgin olive oil with a fruity bouquet, rich in scent which recalls the fresh olive with a note of aromatic herbs. To the palate it is well balanced with a strong, bitter and spicy punch.
